The Midlands' leading supplier & installer of premium artificial grass

Looking after your artificial lawn this autumn

Falling leaves, wet weather and muddy paws. A few easy jobs keep your lawn looking its best until spring.

Artificial lawn finished against timber sleepers in autumn light

One of the best things about artificial grass is how little it asks of you. There is no mowing, no feeding and no muddy patches. Autumn is still worth ten minutes of your time now and then, though, and here is what we recommend to our own customers.

Clear the leaves

Leaves look lovely on a lawn for about a day. Left to sit, they hold moisture, break down and give weed seeds something to root into. A leaf blower or a plastic rake clears them in minutes. Avoid metal rakes, which can catch the fibres.

Give it a brush

Heavy use, garden furniture and wet weather can flatten the pile in places. A stiff brush worked against the direction of the fibres lifts them straight back up. Our grass uses C-shaped yarns that spring back on their own, so a quick brush is usually all it takes.

Rinse where the pets go

Every grass we sell is pet friendly and non-toxic. A rinse with the hose now and then keeps things fresh, especially in the corners the dogs prefer.

Keep the edges clear

A properly installed lawn drains straight through its sub-base, even in a wet British autumn. Keep the edges and any drainage points clear of leaves and soil so the water has somewhere to go.
